| Treo 755p pricing Hi again...
I'm ready to get my new 755p, but am having a really REALLY frustrating time with Sprint customer "service".
I will make a long story short, but the highlights include seven phone calls, four different price quotes, and driving 25 miles to my nearest Sprint store (after a call which told me yes, they had them in stock, and yes, as a long-time customer with SIX Sprint lines I am eligible for "new customer pricing" [$279]... you guessed it, no 755p's in stock.
Whew, sorry for venting.
What I would like to know is what prices you EXISTING Sprint customers are paying for your 755's, and if anyone has any suggestions for the best way to get my best deal with customer service. Any advice welcome. I really want to get my hands on the new phone before I go away for the long weekend.....
Ginnie

Ginnie | Good luck Ginnie! I have never understood wireless providers reluctance to offer existing customers a good deal on phones. Verizon "hooks" their customers with a "new every 2" deal. For those loyal to Verizon, this is a decent deal, although it should come with another 2 year commitment. My dealings with Sprint in the past have been less than fruitful. When I made my move from the Treo 300, they wouldn't offer me any discounts. I think at the time, I was looking at the Treo 600. I ended up moving Cingular because of Sprint's lack of interest in keeping me as a customer.
I checked eBay and no-contract phones are up to $450-$500 for the Treo 755p.
If you have Craigslist, you could try that in your area.
Let us know how you make out.
-Chris

The first rep I spoke with actually seemed to understand me, though after checking, he was unable to lower the price past 329.99. He acknowledged that it wasn't good enough, and put me through to another rep, a manager of some sort, I suspect. She was empathetic, and listened to me while I explained what I needed. I told her all I wanted was the same pricing as a new customer (279.99 after mail-in rebate), and I was willing to renew my contract. (not unreasonable, I believe, for a long-time customer with 6 lines in the household!)
She did it. I should receive my new Treo by Thursday, no activation fee, and for my price. She apologized for my inconvenience.
I am satisfied, but must say, Sprint needs to step up their customer service.
I'll let you know if the phone arrives as promised, without any more glitches!
Ginnie

Ginnie | Awesome. The Treo 755p makes for a nice upgrade from the Treo 650. Which color did you get?

| Awesome deal, Ginnie.
So far, the best Sprint has offered me is $505 plus tax (that's $75 off for one year since I signed my 2 yr agreement last April). And while I don't mind re-signing my 2 yr again if I can get a good deal on the 755p, I may just end up going through Palm direct ($579, no tax, free shipping) and getting the 755p with the free car charger.
I don't have 6 lines of service, but do have 3 lines.

| Yes, I am satisfied with the outcome, but it sure wasn't easy. I had at least four different price quotes throughout this "adventure!"
I have had my 650 for over two years, though, and was eligible for the $150 credit. It is frustrating that customer service seems unwilling or unable to work with their "valued customers" to retain their business and good will.
Chris- I am getting the blue one (maroon doesn't grab me!)
Chilly- let us know what you end up doing!

| I got the 755p yesterday, and man am I lovin it. I was lucky enough to be in a market where they released it cheaper than 279.99, and I am a long time friend of the manager of the Sprint store, the only thing I need to do now is invest in a case for this bad boy. I chose the Burgundy color to match the cars that I have. Thanks once again goes to Chris for his in-depth review of this phone, it has brought me all I could have ever wanted for a phone. Any suggestions on a new case? I have done them all, leather, plastic, crystal, etc...just seeing what everyone prefers! Hope all of you that are thinking of buying the new 755 read the review, it's a big help! |

Which, by the way, is due to arrive TODAY...just got the tracking info!
Whoot whoot!

| Well I have the 750 and I used a flip case for my 650 which fit the 750 pretty good except the cutouts on the sides did not match up (krusell case) so I found a Krusell orbit flip for under 14.00 a couple of weeks ago. Very nice except the crossbar between the screen and keyboard is covering uo the action buttons I am thinking it will stretch out a little bit and be okay.
Good luck with your new device hope it works welll for you. |

| Well Hello everyone, I went to the sprint store to get the treo and they told me they didnt have any in but since i was going to be a new customer they talked me into get a blackberry until they got some in. I went by there often since i work in the same area, but everytime i went there they would say they didnt have any in. But everytime i talk to someone who haves it they would say they bought it from the same store. But i work for them anyway and allready get a wonderful deal i really didnt care about the credit. But anyway thats how im getting mine, they said it should be here by thursday.
Ps. I had the Treo 700p but left and went to another company andthe moto Q but since im working for them now im not leaving the Treo. Im here to stay. plus i love this forum. |
