What apps do you have in phone memory vs. SD card? - Treo Forums

Hey folks~

Of all the things that really tie me up, it's what I can load on my SD card vs. apps I MUST install into the phone's memory (I have very limited phone memory space). I spend more time thru trial and error. What 3rd party apps do you have and where do you store them?

I have SplashID and SplashShopper, which both must be installed in the phone's memory. I use Alltel's 755p.

I put everything but MP3's in the phone memory... I have a few third party apps.. a volume booster, an app to make mp3's into ringtones... a few games, not much. I still have way over half my memory.

A good rule of thumb is this: anything that replaces one of the built-in apps, uses alarms, or runs in the background needs to be in RAM. Everything else can go on the SD card.

I third what Kreth has stated. Another limitation would be time to launch limitations - how impatient one is to launch an application. I keep only those applications I frequently use or run as described above in main memory; everything else on the card using ZLauncher.
