Battery Life (or lack thereof)
I must say, the hands-down biggest hole in this puppy is the battery. My 650 could go days without a charge, even if used for a couple hours. I can't talk for 30 minutes and play a few rounds of Bejeweled without this battery dropping to 50% in a heartbeat. This is a really an issue.

I agree. I wonder if programs are running in the background that sap the power. It makes the phone almost unusable. Thanks goodness I carry a spare phone.

I have found that 2 weeks after using my device, the battery life has finally become stable. Not great, but it does last the day now - FlexMail, HanDBase and Excel, of course the phone too.

I am doing a little better now. I found some tips on the Palm forums that helped. Primarily:
1 - Disable the locator to 911 only
2 - Install Magic Button (or similar free utility). This will close down all apps completely if you wish without having to go to Task Manager.
Those 2 things made a massive difference over the first couple days, but standby time is still weak overall, imo.

I stopped using Magic Button and the default task manager. The application I am now using is QuickMenu - it is also free.

Turn of infrared beam if you are not using it. Reportedly that zaps a lot of battery.
My experience has been that the battery is adequate, but not stellar for sure. I run my Jawbone 2 BT headset connected from 8a-5:30p daily. I do multiple messages throughout the day. I use push ActiveSync with the mail2web.com Exchange email service. As long as I plug my phone in to my car charger during my commute times (about one hour each way) then I don't ever drop below 60% at anytime. I charge it each night fully.

and just to let ya know u can go to a sprint store and ask for a free spare bettery for the 800w and they will give it to u. its the same battery as the paklm centro!! so dat really suks!

A correction there, my friend. The Honolulu store does not give out free spare batteries. They will only replace the battery after it is checked and they determine it is defective.

Yes, but if you really need to have a stable, long-lasting source, the 2600ma battery excels.
