Blackberry Curve (Tmobile) to Sprint Treo 800 (Good choice?)
Hello to all,
I am new here and just recently decided to try a Treo 800w. Background of story is that I have been using 2 phones for a while now. Maybe 4 years or so. I have the SERO 1250 plan for Sprint and a family plan with Tmobile. I am trying to make the Treo 800w my primary phone.
The blackberry email delivery is instant and that is what I loved about it, is the treo 800w capable of this?
The internet is pretty fast on the Treo 800w. I am impressed with that. I am getting used to the windows format, I know it may take a while.
Any advice, tips or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,

Prefer the Blackberry Curve
Email off the Curve is excellent and really depends on the provider how fast the email delivery is. Our wholesale partner offers the finest coverage with data packages faster than speed itself and chance of earning residuals off the cell phone family plan bills you already pay for now.. Check it out. www.trishmarsh.mywirelessrep.com Might really interest you.

The built-in mail program that comes with WM devices bites. However, there are a number of 3rd party applications that do rather well. I am using FlexMail and it provides good service for me.
The speed of your email being received is solely dependent on the system sending the mail. When the mail server gets busy, email goes out at a slower rate, regardless of whether you are using a BB, WM, or whatever floats the sinking ship.
I have used Everyone.net for about 5 years and have experienced excellent service with on a number of devices, including a Treo 600, 650, 700P, Centro and now a WM device. Mail sent to the Everyone.net mail server goes out and is received by the client at speeds equal to or surpassing a BB - seriously.
Honolulu - 2,500 miles west of somewhere in the middle of nowhere, the land of Shakes. Kyoceria 6135, Treo 300, 600, 650, 700p, 700w, Centro & 800W, Touch Pro plus 3 other WM phones...

yea---i just got my treo 800 a week and a half ago. took 2 months to decide between the curve and the Treo---i'm also with Sprint. i use to have a Pocket PDA for Windows 6 years ago and i wanted to go back. besides, i have a lot of word docs and excel SS's i need to bring up on the run, occasionally. it's easy for that.
i need a good 3rd party program for email and Voicemail reminders. i tend to forget these......
also, the last 3 days i can't sync my treo to my Vista PC at home. don't know what happened but it's not working.
but yea, it was double the cost of the Curve but am happy. just a few bugs to iron out. fk

UPDATE FOR EVERYONE:
I have had my treo for about a week now. I have had some time to get used to it and I also added a program SPC MOBILE SHELL. This makes the phone excellent! I really love it now. Are there any programs you guys suggest? The email thing, I am getting used to.
It uses the same sd card as my BB Curve so this helps. I ordered 2 extra batteries and a car charger. I am looking for a battery charger now, but one that I can use in the car if necessary. I will keep everyone updated.
Thanks for your insight everyone.

Fishking,
Here is the link to the screenshots of SPC Mobile Shell.

I found a set of things on ebay. (2) OEM Batteries, OEM Home Charger a stylus, software cd and data cable for $18 shipped. It was all new in box. Basically everything in the box but the phone. I thought it was a good deal for the price.
I promise you will like the Mobile Shell software. It makes everything easier to work with and not to mention the dial pad. You can have pictures of your contacts on the screen, touch that picture and the phone will dial them. Very slick in my opinion.
