Default Charging Issue - USB Data vs USB Power

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue with their 800w... it started happening yesterday.

When plugging the unit into a dock or USB cable that is plugged into a computer based USB port, the unit shows the little lightening bolt over the battery icon but does NOT show the red light at the upper-left of the unit. It is not charging, as the battery power remaining decreases. I also have a USB dock that goes into the wall with a standard AC to USB connector, and this does the same thing.

If I plug it into a true USB power adapter (the one included with the 800w) the light works and it charges.

If I restart the unit, it returns to normal operation and will charge from either.

I DID install the recharging update (something to do with recharging after a full baterry drain, which I haven't had yet) two weeks ago or so. I've had the phone for a month and it worked just fine up until yesterday by plugging it into the dock cradle. Also, I have made no software changes recently (I use Spb Mobile Shell, Spb Wallet, and Spb Time, but they have all been installed since day 1 and were causing no issues).

This has now happened twice to me.

    Anyone else having this issue?

    Thanks!

Its possible that if you are trying to use a usb caharger thats not ac powered that it might not be geting enough consistent power to charge. I know that in days past there were postings about not using the front usb ports on your desktop because they were like an unpowered usb hub and this caused sync and other problems. Are you sure that your usb cables are charging cables if they are just synching data cables they were not intended and cannot be used for charging.

JFAs advice is especially significant with older computers, especially older laptops. Another thing, what you have described is also an added feature of the 800W. If you do not see the light light when plugged in to a power source, unplug the cable and plug it back in. This feature has been a WM feature that shows up often in the 800W. It is intended to give your arms and wrists extra exercise. (What happens: the device does not recognize the USB connection at times).
