This is a discussion on Extended battery Innocell 2600 within the Treo Smartphones forums; Anyone purchased one of these? Is the battery life more than double the stock battery? Just curious, TIA....

The Seidio 2600mha battery helped solve the Treo 800w battery problem for me. They ran a discount so I think it was around $54. I believe it doubles the operating time or more plus it does not heat up at all like the stock battery does. The battery comes with its own custom battery cover that matches the phone color and finish perfectly.
In addition I have installed the various 800w updates and tweaks (see list below) for charging, turn off power wasting items like sounds, vibrate and altered the radio management settings. I also installed Treo Alerts so the LED conveys inbound message/email/Voicemail/WIFI network availability notifications to save power. The result is wonderful.
The trade off is a 3/16" (5mm) thicker profile so in the evenings during low use I install the stock battery and cover to take advantage of its slim light weight.
Seriously, this phone runs 3 radios at once, CDMA, Bluetooth and WIFI and yet people are surprised the stock 1150mha battery is dead before the day is over?
The 800w has its faults due to poorly chosen manufacturer default settings. All these bells and whistles help sell phones. I was determined research solutions before considering abandoning the phone. Everything listed is easily found by reading forums on the net. I now have a useful powerful PDA. Quite a leap from the Treo 700p.
If you are willing to put some effort into it you can tame the beast!

list of power saving mods:
Sprint USB charging update
Dannzeman's 800w Registry Script with Mortscript
Ebag333's Increase volume on the 800w

Programs that allow changes to save power:
PHM registry editor (use verified mods only)
Treo Alerts (easy to use)

cr4west is right on. I have tamed the beast and have a great phone now (800w). I've got the 2600 battery and have turned off a few features I rarely use. I love my phone, but still think I want a Pre.
