Default From Moto Q9C to Palm 800W.. Was it a good choice??

    Hey guys!
I recently changed from a q9c to an 800w. So far besides the ability to touch the screen, i'm not too impressed. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool little phone but it lacks some basic phone components. for example: How the hell are you supposed to know the corresponding letters that are normally on the numbers. The q9c at least had a free app that alleviated this problem. Also, i can't even watch my you tube videos on this thing. These are my main 2 problems. Can anyone help??

I came from a Q to the 800w. You can alleviate the YouTube issue a few ways: if you get SkyFire as your browser, you can watch youtube videos (and all flash videos) natively in the browser.

You could also do the same patches that a Moto Q requires for watching YouTube, I would guess, which would be putting TCPMP as your media players, etc. Check out everythingQ.com for instructions on that.

To get the letters that go with the numbers, all you have to do is bring up the touchscreen keypad. Do that by pressing the menu button the home screen, then choose "dial pad". No hack needed.

There are times I miss my Q, and my son has a Q9c, which has the GPS. I miss the size of the keyboard and the profiles the most... but the 800w has some cool features.

I have a Q too, and I like the palm 800w but the keyboard on it seems so SMALL. Or crunched together maybe. Anyway I can't finger type on it and I'm clutzy with thumbs. Finger type perfectly on my Q.

I had the MotoQ.... I couldn't wait to get rid of it. I went with the 755p and am very content. I'm thinking it's the Windows OS that has it all screwed up. I don't think I would ever get another. I'll stick to what works.

os choice is really a matter of personal preference. I have used palm and windows mobile both. I like both right now I like windows mobile better. If I like NOVA when devices come out I may change.

I use the 800w. I also own a Centro, which I keep as a back up device in the event of phone failure. While I like the Palm OS, the fact that the Palm OS line lacks GPS and WiFi, but particularly GPS, is what moved me to WinMo as the OS of choice. Plus, Palm OS doesn't do a good job of supporting Java VM. I know you can load it on there, but it just seems to run flaky. Hopefully NOVA will combine the best of the two worlds.

Dear your one problem is solve when you install any player which supports flv format. With this you can play flv files in your 800w. Because youtube videos are in the flv format.
