Need help installing Apps on my Treo

Ok, i'm still trying to download my first application on my Treo. first of all, i'm on my home PC with Vista and (finally) synced in with my Treo.

1-do i extract the zip file to a folder on the Treo---and which one?
2-or would it be better on my SD card?
3-or do i copy the zip file to my Treo and then unzip it, then run the app?
4-later i will tackle a "direct download" to my Treo via by itself.

i tried #3 but can't find a .exe so far........thanks, FK

I install most everything to the card. During the installation process, if the application needs to live in main memory, a prompt is generally displayed indicating it wants to be in main memory.

CAB installation is normally done using Active Sync and copying the file to the device - again I normally send it to the card. Once on the card you can then use File Explorer, navigate to the file, tap the CAB file and installation begins. After installation and happiness is achieved, you can delete the CAB file via File Explorer.

There are some EXE files that run natively on the device - same idea; however, to get those to launch, you just gotta create a short cut using File Explorer and copy that short cut or paste that short cut to the Start Menu within the Windows folder.

Extraction is normally faster on the desktop.

Direct download is a breeze, you just gotta decide where it is downloaded to.
