Perhaps I need to look at SPB Mobile Shell..I've never had a WM device before and I like the standard WM Today screen so far. But I'm all for increased usability.
Yes, completely satisfied
Yes, it is growing on me
Maybe, I haven't really played with it enough to know
No, I will be taking it back
"Important Features" on WM devices are just about the same, or at least on the range of devices I've owned (wow, beginning with a Sierra Wireless VoQ, running WM 2003), and all about equal quality (at least I never had complaints in that area).
I'm looking for ease of usability, which has never came easily with Windows Mobile; witness the availability of aftermarket themes and homescreens these past few years, and if ya weren't around for the explosion of HTC touch screens and TouchFlo hacked onto 6700s and 6800s, people were re-flashing weekly.
An interesting comparison and comments re: WM 6.1 Standard and Professional is that most agree that Standard has a better interface and got the better of the upgrade (meh, farther to travel?). I've never owned a Palm with the Palm OS, so unfortunately, cannot make a comparison there.
I finally purchased SPD Mobile shell 2.1, and it has transformed the ease of usability of the device - everything's large and finger touch away. I was going to install the "Diamond" theme, but this works great.

And of course, after spending the 30 bucks, I found this; this has been great on every WM device I've had with fantastic functionality: weather, picture phone contact lists, program launcher, etc, and completely free.

I'll keep the SPD shell, as it's even cooler, but DO try out the HTC Home Plug in - you won't regret it.

For those with the 800W anI had running Vista and having problems getting Active Stink and the USB cable to work properly, give the Bluetooth connection a try. I have been "getting" around to doing it with Bluetooth since day number 3 and finally did it this evening. Total time to set it up: 1 minute. Same basic performance and functionality with the hassles of the cable slipping on occasion and Active Stink having to restart. You can browse the device and with an application such as My Mobiler you can control the device. Nice.

Mac OS X - The cure for the Vista headache
This is why I use ActiveSync with mail2web.com's free Exchange server. I can easily and reliably sync my mail, contacts, calendar, and tasks with the Exchange server. Everything else I can keep backed up on my stick using the included Sprite Backup.
I agree, syncing with Vista is horrible. I just bought a new laptop with Vista 64 bit. Love the speed, but syncing is even worse with this version. That's why I'll keep my XP laptop, for the things Vista just doesn't do well.
