Problem pairing 800W

I am having a problem pairing my Treo 800W with a 2009 Merc Milan with Sync. I have tried all of the different options with no avail. After the pin number is generated from my auto I input it into my phone and it shows that is has connected. Also it shows a connection by displaying my phone on the radio. From here the little multi colored ball on my phone starts to spin again like it is looking for another connection. The display on my auto continues to show that my phone is connected. This is where it stops. I try to make a call and it says that no phone is available. I have downloaded all updates from Palm, Ford and Microsoft. I have been able to pair other windows mobile devices with my auto with no problem and have been able to pair my phone with other bluetooth devices. I have also hard reset my phone. Any help would be appreciated.

Just found out last week that the phone is defective and Palm is to repair it.
