Touchscreen Sensitivity for 800
Hello all,
Great forum!! First time treo owner. I am wondering if anyone knows how to change the sensitivity on the touchscreen. I sometimes need to tap it twice with the stylis. Don't know if this is possible but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

I think it might be more a symptom of the stylus, than the screen. It bends too much making it difficult to use.
If you have an old stylus from a previous Treo, have you tried that?

Thanks for the reply Chris. I haven't been able to find one. I asked the Sprint rep when I got the phone and they did not have one. I called Best Buy, Circuit City & they said, they don't carry them for the 800? Can I use one from a 750?

I agree that the bendy stylus is part of the problem, but yeah, my 800W also needs more pressure applied to the screen than any other palm PDA/smartphone I've owned. I haven't found any way to change the sensitivity and I'm just waiting for better after-market styli to be released.

Chris is right and there is no adjustment available.

Just to let you know, according to the manual, the 800w has a built in screen protector. I have to admit, like the rest of you, it's a different feel than previous Treos, definitely the first "built in" screen protector I've seen. I never use them any way, not sure I like being forced to use one.

That would be good news..but I didn't see that in the manual. Where does it mention the built in screen protector?

I too hate the cheap stylus. Already pre-ordered my replacement from Seidio. Hope this helps. Shipping will begin Aug. 18. Now, if they will only come out with an extended battery that fits within the current back cover, this will be the perfect device for me.

The 800W has been a good device for me once I stopped trying to "customize" the heck out of it. I have had no resets at all, no error displays - it just works and works well. The battery life is about 6 hours with email, sms, Excel, HanDBase and phone calls. I have no complaints as I was aware of what I was walking in to. However, like the Centro I have with the extended battery, I also want the same feature for the 800W. Battery life has always been a primary concern for me.

Battery life is about the only real weakness in the device as I see it. It is adequate, but could certainly be a whole lot better. I've emailed Seidio asking if they plan on an extended battery for this device, but haven't heard anything back from them yet. If I do, I'll post an update. I know they made an extended for the Mogul that fit into the existing cover, which offered about 25% more juice. I'd be good with that to keep the existing appearance of my Treo.
