Default back same data to different Treos

When I travel I always like to have two agendas with me in case of loss or breakdown. I used to have a Casio, now I own two Treos, but find that I do not know how to use the hotsync to send or receive info from either unit. I find that if I do a hard reset the hotsunc will treat that unit as the original user, but sometimes I will ewant to have the unit write to the PC

Can someone help me here please?

If you could be a little more specific it would help me a lot. The hand book clearly says that each treo 90 should have its own ''User Code'' but when I do that, all the data disappears which I do not want to happen.
