Well, for anyone who is interested, I found that if you do NOT load the application suite for Treo that comes with it, and you download Palm 4.0, it works just fine with OS X. You can't use the wireless feature for connecting with a cell phone. That is the only drawback. It wasn't relevant for me.

So, no need for Missing Sync w/ the Treo 90? I'm using the 300 with Palm Desktop. I downloaded the latest Palm Desktop from the Handspring site and haven't needed Mising Sync.

Good news -- the Treo 90 syncs just fine with OS X over USB. I hard-deleted my previous version of Palm Desktop (which I had been using with my Visor) and installed the 4.0 available at Handspring. Perhaps overkill, but it worked. No need for MissingSync.

I'm quite relieved, because as of Dec 23 I found not a single confirmation that this was possible, only claims as late as Fall 2002 that it wasn't. The only encouraging post I saw was Rue's, and I wasn't positive it referred specifically to the 90.

    Happy New Year!

Of course *just now* I realize Rue was the original poster, so I needn't have worried.
