    Default Best screen protectors?

Any recommendations? Are there any, that when applied perfectly, look like there is nothing on it at all?

I'm using one now that a friend gave me (I screwed up the one that it came with), but it makes the screen look like there is stuff on it when it's turned off... Im somewhat of a perfectionist

    Oh...this is for a Treo 700w

I just did a search, and saw that someone recommended InvisibleShield, which is a little expensive for just one. How are the ones that are sold on this site?

While the Invisible Shield is a fantastic product for the iPod, I wouldn't recommend using them for the Treo. First off, it is very noticeable. I see the Shield as more of a true case then a screen protector. I've seen videos of people trying to scratch the iPod with the Invisibile Shield -- and it just wouldn't happen. With the Treo, you don't need that type of screen protection. Boxwave (see Review) makes solid screen protectors and I seen quite a few posts where members speak highly of the product. I have a set of Smartphone Experts Screen Protectors that I'm going to review, but haven't used them yet.

Whichever product you end up choosing, please take the time to rate the product in the new User Reviews section. Unfortunately, this is a brand new section, so there aren't any product ratings for screen protectors. In fact, I still have to add those products to the review section. Your post is a perfect example of why there is a need for this section! Once up and running, the new User Reviews section will be THE place for Treo owners to get feedback from other owners on products.

Likes, dislikes...reviews, ratings... it's all be there!

Okay, shameless plug of new section over.

I have to disagree, Chris. When I had my flying Treo incident a while ago, I'm convinced that my Invisible Shield saved me from a badly scratched screen... The body of my Treo has a few nice dings in it, but the only sign of problems with the screen is a slight scuff mark on one corner of the Invisible Shield.

In terms of protection, I agree, there is no beating the Invisible Shield. I absolutely love it on my iPod. Laura mentioned that her current screen protector" makes the screen look like there is stuff on it when it's turned off... Im somewhat of a perfectionist". I think that would be difficult to achieve with the Invisible Shield on the Treo. How does it look on the Treo itself?

Wasn't the stuff they make the Invisible Shield originally used to protect Helicopter blades -- I think that's hysterical. Straight from the military to protect our precioius iPods, Treos and other gadgets.

Mine is unobtrusive when my Treo is on, except for the small scuff I mentioned. It's definitely noticeable when the Treo is off, mainly fingerprint smudges from tapping the screen. I should point out that I just have the screen protector, as they hadn't come out with the full-body product for the 650 yet when I bought mine.

?????? I believe I missed something!!! Is there a thread around here that you can direct me to, that might better explain the "flying Treo Incident" So far, I have been lucky (I probably just jinxed myself) and haven't had any bad accidents. I do have a small scuff mark right at the volume button and the 5 way is starting to show wear, but so far, nothing close to watching my Treo fly through the air . . . .

I dropped two phones within 3 months on the same floor and busted them. The first was the Visor Prism with the phone module add on. This was the early beginnings of what became the Treo line . . . I think I have a picture . . .

It still worked after I dropped it, but the bottom right hand corner was cracked and I had to use my Thumb on the crack to hold the correct amount of pressure while Poking the screen with my left hand to dial the numbers. . . . A friend felt sorry and gave me his old 180. (I think he upgraded to a 300) I hadn't activated it as a phone, but was using it as a PDA when I picked up one afternoon to leave, and it hit the SAME FLOOR that the Visor Prism did! The lid went one way, the device the other, and the screen had a small crack in the lower left hand corner.

So for a time, I was PDAless. And to get up my nerve, I had to start small. So I carried around a candy bar phone for a time, and then moved to a Tungsten E. I was very attracted to its brushed aluminum case . . .

After reading Chris' post above talking about the InvisiShield, I decided to at least do the screen of my T650.

I'm pretty happy I did. It was only $10 installed and so far, it's been very good. I got a new iPod last week and did the InvisiShield all over on it, so while I was there, I decided to have the T650 screen done at the same time (which saved me a seperate trip and the extra cost of installation).

The screen is a lot easier to keep clean, I don't feel so bad about the thumb or finger smudges and it's pretty much protected from normal screen scratches.

Doing the entire Treo was something I didn't want to do, mostly due to the fact that I really like my Siedio silcon case, which has protected my Treo from the 3 drops that it's seen so far.
