Default First time use SD card

Hi, this is my first time I use SD card in my newly bought Treo 650. I was wondering how do I use this SD card. When I access this card from my pc, I saw a few folders. So, I copied some files like text files into this SD card and when I open this SD card from my Treo, I see nothing. How do I see text files in SD card using my Treo?

    Thanks.

well first I recommend going into "card info" on your device and then reformatting it. Next to see text files you need docs to go or ereader. Any ebook software and/or document software should open text files.

FFR always format your sd cards with card info on your device. never with windows.

Most cards are all ready formatted; I have never come across one that was not. To make the SD card useable, you need software that makes it useable. So, it really depends on your needs. If you are a business user, then look at Documents to Go. A good third party launcher will help you make good use of the SD card by allowing you to select applications to store on and launch from the card - it potentially save you a lot of memory. I use ZLauncher - it is the big guy on the block.

In addition, a good email program such as ChatterEmail - it has an option to store all email on the card - saves a lot of room.

You can also put music on the card, pictures, all sorts of things. Ben

    Thanks for the replies.

Is there any freeware software just to read text files (.txt)?

Documents To Go should have come preinstalled on your Treo. If not, perhaps you can take a look on the installation CD.

By the way, an excellent program to view the contents of the card as well as the Treo is FileZ and it is freeware.
