Question How do you carry a Treo without pockets or belt/waistband?

I've done some searching already, but can't seem to find this particular issue. I work in a professional office environment, and often wear dresses that have (1) no pockets, (2) no waistband, and (3) no belt. When I'm out of the office, I carry my Treo in my purse - no problem. But, I have to move around the office a lot during the day, including several floors in the building, and I need to keep my Treo with me for calendar purposes. Right now, I just carry it in my hand, but that is clumsy and "takes up a hand," and I also set it down and then forget it in various offices (true, my memory is part of the problem, but that's another issue...)

I have sought out neck lanyards or chains that can be used with a Treo case to keep the Treo around my neck, but the only ones I have found are pretty casual or juvenile-looking for a professional office and attire. I thought about using a retractable clip attached to part of my dress, but the Treo is heavy enough to pull the fabric, and the clip won't support the weight.

Has anyone come up with an attractive, practical way for a woman to carry a Treo without the use of pockets, belts, or bands to clip it on?

    Thanks!

    Linda

Which specific solutions have you already considered so that we don't suggest ones you've already rejected?

I'm not a fashion buff by any means, but...have you considered any of those little cigarette case thingies? I have no clue as to what they are called, but I've seen some female smokers use them. It looks like a small wallet on a string type of deal.

Anyways, that's all I can think of.

Thanks for the idea, Jmtyra! Actually, that's kind of what I was thinking about, but I haven't found one online or in stores that was "right".

Alex - I've tried to use a clip-on retractable strap, but the Treo is so heavy that it yanks my jacket or the top of my 2-piece dress down and then slips off due to the weight. I've also just carried it - using either an aluminum Rhino case or a top-flap leather case...but I keep dropping it, leaving it, or fumbling with it when I'm running from office to office.

I guess what I was thinking of was something like those fashion chains that people use with reading glasses...so it would hang down, but look attractive and not too casual for the office.

Or, maybe there is a way to clip it to my calendar book...but if I just use the case clip, it slides off.

I'm discovering that Treos (and PDAs in general) are not very woman-friendly when it comes to carrying them! As I mentioned earlier, outside the office it's easy - I just toss it in my purse - but when I'm running around during the day in the building, I don't have the purse with me.

    Thanks for the ideas!

    Default Answer?

    Hey Linda.....

I bought a clear silicone case for my 600 and it came with a what they said was a handstrap. When I received the case in the mail, the strap was actually pretty long and attractive. It actually looks similar to a thin silver necklace. I'm like you....I have to have my treo with me usu ally at all times at work and my hands free. If you'd like, I can look back on my history to see who i purchased it from.

The neat thing about it is that the treo is easily detachable from the strap when you want to do without the strap.....AND the case offers supreme protection for your treo.

    Hope this helped (helps)....Good Luck!!!!!
