I just bought the Seidio GPS bundle which came with TOMTOM navigator 5 software, the cradle, and a bluetooth GPS device from i.Trek. I can't get the Treo 650 (Sprint) to "discover" the GPS device. Any advice? Thanks
So I guess the first thing is to make sure that the software is installed correctly. If it's running on your treo, then you should be ok. Then quit out of TomTom.
Make sure bluetooth is enabled.
Turn on your iTrek and let it sit still in an open space or by a window for about 2-3 minutes so that it can get a fix.
try using the bluetooth setup and add device to search for the itrek. You may get a prompt for a key for the itrek (I did for my Holux GPSlim).
Now go back and start up tomtom again. Under change preferences, select GPS configuration and try selecting "other bluetooth GPS" and then go back. You should have a bullseye looking screen with a bunch of dots and bars on it. It may take a few minutes, but at least on my TomTom 2004, I get a popup saying that a bluetooth device was discovered and then you can select your gps receiver. After that you should be good to go.
The main problem I think is that the GPS receiver has to get a satellite triangulation fix before it can be used for mapping and route calculations by the TomTom software.
