Treo Headphones
Hey everyone, I've been lurking around the boards for several months now but need an opinion from my fellow experts on some headphones. I bought some headphones with a 2.5mm jack at the Verizon store a couple days ago only to find I couldn't get sound in both ears. Apparently, the Treo's output is mono so you need an adapter for 'stereo' sound. I'm looking at the Seidio 2-in-1 Earbud Headphones (http://store.everythingtreo.com/cont...73-74--475.htm) and wanna make sure they will work in stereo for playing MP3s. Can anyone verify this to be true before I order 'em up? Thanks in advance.
Jayson
P.S. Oh yeah, its a 700w

I went to radio shack and spent like i think 4.50 on an adapter that went from 2.5 mono to 3.5 sterio and I pluged it in and it works super, its inline so it doesnt stick out from the bottom of the PDA to which is great.
Id check out radio shack.

Thanks for the reply but I'm not really interested in an adapter if I don't have to get one. That, and I've checked a couple of Radio Shacks who only sell the stubby adapter that sticks out the bottom. I'm really only interested if the headphones I'm looking at above will work W/OUT a 2.5 mono to 3.5 stereo adapter.
Thanks.

Yes. The Seidio headsets are designed specifically for the Treo.

Yes, it's true. There's a pin in the jack that gets stuck, causing the Treo to think there's a headset plugged in, even when there isn't.

Thanks for the reply Kreth. Is the headphone jack only a problem in the 650 or the 700w (which I have) as well? By the way, anybody try those Seidio headphones? Any good?
Thanks,
Jayson

I believe the 700W has the same jack. I never used that specific headset, but I was very happy with a similar headset from Seido with ear hooks. That is, until my gf's dog got ahold of them.

Users guide for Treo 700w regarding Win Media Player Mobile says "You can listen to these music, audio, etc through the speaker or through a stereo headphone (3.5 adapter or 2.5mm stereo headphone required, sold seperatly)" Verizon sold me a Jabbra 2.5mm stereo headset and it only plays on one channel. If the User guide is correct, I should have stereo. What gives. PS Love the Treo.

You are correct. That is also the wording in the 650 manual. And when you brought that to the attention of Verizon, what was their response or explanation?
