700p sync issue after Treo update

Before loading the Treo update just before I left for Christmas, I must have been instructed to do some sort of backup, as my Treo would be erased to update it. After loading the update, I hit hotsync again, thinking it would sync my desktop up w/ my Treo 700p....I think I was wrong.

Now I'm back after a couple weeks and can't get my hotsync to do anything but "remote database XYZ number" and "backup."

How do I change the settings on hotsync to get it back to its "normal, sub-standard but necessary" state?
