    Default AddressBookSync:index beyond bounds error

I purchased a new Treo 650 3 wks ago and after an exhausting effort of reading many forums and fixes for the Mac OS X and Treo, I have the sync down to everything syncing except Address Book.

I get the following error message in my console:

2005-07-31 20:35:01.782 AddressBookSync[1422] AddressBookSync (client id: com.apple.AddressBook) error: Exception running AddressBookSync: *** -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (3667) beyond bounds (3667)
[iSync] We are concerned by the sync plan start notification for an external device

Is there anyone else out there with this problem?

I've got the latest and greatest (ha) versions of everything:
    Mac OS X 10.4.2
    iSync 2.1
    Palm Desktop 4.2.1
    HotSync 3.2.1
    Treo650-1.03-VZW

I even tried MissingSync (which seems like a nice tool) but still get the same error message and Address Book won't sync.

Default Problem solved with help from Apple

With help from Apple Support and directions from Missing Sync (see below) and performing "ALL" of the steps as root, it is now working. All conduits are working fine - even without MissingSync installed.

The following is from MissingSync: (Note: where it says 'Missing Sync' replace with 'Hot Sync')
Go to: /Library/Application Support/Palm HotSync/Conduits/ and delete the
Apple conduit, not just disable, but drag it to the trash. Then go to iSync
and click on the 'Devices' Menu and choose, Enable Palm OS Syncing. This will
install the conduit for the new iSync that ships with Tiger. Then go back to
Missing Sync, double click on the iSync conduit and enable iSync for that
device. When you do you should see the device again in iSync and be able to
    sync to it.*
The default option for the first sync is to merge data, so if your data is in
sync now, it will actually duplicate everything because iSync doesn't know
that this is all common data. So you will need to choose the option to erase
the device and sync. That will wipe out only the data in the calendars, tasks,
and addresses section of the device and then it will put the current data that
is in iCal and Address Book onto that device.

Default Is it safe to buy a Treo 650 to use with Mac OS X 10.4.2?

This is my first post to this appreciated forum. Back in May I bought a Treo 650 at the Sprint store in Overland Park, KS and spent an entire weekend trying to install the Palm Desktop for syncing to my PowerBook G4 Mac OS 10.3.9 system.

Sadly I had to return the Treo because I could never get the Palm Desktop installed, much less synced. This was after purchasing "Missing Sync" and turning other cartwheels.

Now I have installed Tiger, actually X 10.2.4, and have seen your post about getting help from Apple support, which I have access to. I know enough to Repair Disk Permissions, but do not think that I can use Terminal.

Do you think I can sync a Treo to my Mac if I buy it now that I have Tiger? If I can't sync it, there is no use in buying a Treo.

Thanks for this great way to find out about technical issues for the Mac.

    JoAnn-
Without knowing the details of the initial install, I'm not sure why you experienced problems. When you upgraded to Tiger, did you do a clean install or select Upgrade. Either way, I believe you will be able to get Palm Desktop working on your Mac -- and more importantly a new Treo. I am currently running Tiger - with Missing Sync and I sync Address Book, iCal without any problems. I've also got it working with Bluetooth, although I use the InnoDock for speed (and because it looks cool.:cool

If you decide to give the Treo another shot, there are plenty of folks here and at the Apple Discussion boards that will help you through the process. FYI: There is a new version of Palm Desktop available on Palm's website for the Mac.

Good luck and stop back if you need help.
