Boot Camp Windows on MacBook + Treo 650..will it work?

Hi all,

So I'm beginning to look at two things. A MacBook laptop and a Palm Treo 650 (or 700 if it comes to Canada soon!!) So, a few questions. A) Does anyone yet have a set date or a rough idea of WHEN the Treo 700 is coming to Canada? (On a side note with that, is there a GSM Treo 700 yet? I'm on Rogers which is GSM and if there's a GSM 700w then I want to know where to get it) B) Will I be able to sync up my Treo (beit 650 or 700) to a MacBook if it's running Windows through a Boot Camp setup?? Please lemme know if this is at all possible!!!

There is no reason it shouldn't sync with windows on the macbook. It is just like any other windows box at that point. All device drivers and software for peripherals are identical. All boot camp does is gets it up and running and provides the drivers for the hardware on the machine.

I have a macbook pro and I'm having trouble syncing my Treo 650 to it. I came here for help but haven't found any so I'm going to keep messing with it.

You might want to try downloading the latest version of Palm Desktop for Mac. Try to get the Mac communicating with the Treo and then move to iSync.

Saw this thread and thought I would add my own two cents.
I have a MacBook with Parallels installed. Finally, I can sync my handhelds to the windows side. Wasn't possible with Virtual PC as we all know. This use to tick off the programmers at Palm too.
Anyway, the only thing I have to pay attention to is Missing Sync. In order to sync with the windows side, I have to make sure the USB sync is turned off on Missing Sync. Everyone one of my handhelds syncs beautifully with windows. I never really tried Boot Camp. Let me know if any of you guys have had success with it.

Missing Sync is a Mac program that acts as a replacement for Palm's HotSync manager. It offers more integration with the iApps. You can read a review of MissingSync here.

I want to be able to use my treo 700p (sprint) as a modem instead buying a broadband card. And I want to be able to use it on both the mac and the windows side...

what do you suggest?

Anyway, I use some modem scripts I found that lets me use my 650 as a modem for my mac. if you really want to, you can use PDANet from junefabrics for the windows side if I am not mistaken.
