Can't get .Mac to work

Hi everyone!

I'm a newbie to Treo/Palm software, but not to Macs. I just brought my new 700p Treo home tonight and am trying to get it to set up with my .Mac email. I also can't get it to work with my POP email. I'm entering everything the way I see it on the screen, but it can't seem to find the server.

My head hurts and my eyes are crossing from exhaustion (long day, not the Treo), I hope someone can help me get this working.

I can receive mail, but I can't send it. I'm getting a couple of different error messages depending on my configuration. The one in particular that I got was Error: 553 5.7.1 <emailaddy> Relaying denied, try authentication.

When I set up ESMTP and try to send it doesn't recognize my username/password.
