Please someone help!

I've read the loooooonng sticky thread on the previous discussions on troubles installing TomTom5 on Macs, but nothing suggested has worked for me.

Here's what I've tried on my Powerbook 10.4.7:

1. Downloaded the tts104.dmg mac setup program from TomTom's downloads.

2. I run that installer and it asks for my TomTom Application CD, which I insert and finish the installer. It asks me to hotsync, i click ok, and then i quit the installer.

3. I launch Missing Sync 5.1.0 and see that the installer has installed the "TomTom Conduit" and its selected. I deselect every other conduit and try a hotsync with my Treo 700p via USB.

4. Missing Sync tells me the sync failed and the log prints this:

------------------------------------------------------------------
Sync starting at 8/22/06 11:13 PM (23:13:46) on USB (5.1.0)
Failed TomTom Conduit (0x400a)
Sync completed successfully at 8/22/06 11:13 PM (23:13:47)

5. So where does this leave me?

I have a blank 1 GB SD card in the Treo 700p and there's nothing on it, so obviously nothing was synced.

I browse to the ~\Documents\Palm\Users\MyName\TomTom Navigator\ and see these files:
navigator.CAB
navigator.ini
usaf3.cab
usaf3.ini

6. Some posters have suggested also installing the TomTom 5.12 updater (labeled August 2005) and so I downloaded that from TomTom's support website and ran it. Then tried the same hotsync with Missing Sync and it errors out the same way as before.

At this point, I take my blank 1GB SD card out of the Treo 700p and put it in my SD card reader. Then I manually copy those four files that was supposed to sync directly into the root level of the blank SD card. Insert that in the treo and.....nothing happens. I don't see any apps in my Palm's applications listing for the card.

To me, the CAB files and ini files seem very Windows-centric to me. Are those files supposed to run on my Palm Treo? I tried expanding the CAB files but none of those files will hotsync or show up if i copied manually onto the SD card. Are PalmOS apps supposed to have .prc extensions?

So, to sum up, I've tried everything and need more help because I still can't even INSTALL, much less do anything else with this TomTom Navigator 5 software for my 700p.

Has anyone had success manually copying the Navigator files to SD card? Are they suppose to be put into any specific type of directory structure? I've tried copying them into the card's \PALM\ directory, or even into \PALM\Launcher, but none of those worked.

I have tried, tried, and retried all of this OVER AND OVER AN OVER. Deleted everything and restarted the process, again and again and again.... NOTHING!

HELP!!!!

Thanks for any responses!
