can't sync w/cable after syncing w/bluetooth

I lost my Treo 650 sync cable over a year ago, and decided to sync via bluetooth instead. But I've given up; it's just too slow. It often takes over an hour to sync! So I bought the Seidio sync cable, connected it to my Treo 650, and tried syncing. But no luck. I've gone through the Palm hotsync issues links, but nothing works. Any suggestions?

I've actually had intermittent trouble USB syncing as well, and that's with the original cable. I even had a kernel panic (!) and posted here about it, but so far no one has figured that one out.

Here's what has worked for me. First, plug the USB end into your Mac and wait a few minutes. Check a web page, read some news whatever. Then plug your Treo into the other end and wait a few more minutes. Now try to sync. My only guess as to why this may work is a delay in the Mac detecting a USB device. Let me know if it helps.
