Exclamation Installed Missing Sync - ical not working!!

So Sorry for the length of this email. but Please HELP!!

Prior to installing I had been syncing to iCal for months. (I just read a post about Verizon and Wireless sync; I checked my settings and my advanced settings are set up to allow multiple apps to sync)

Last night I installed Missing Sync 5.0.1 for Mac OS 10.4.2. I followed Instructions and it was syncing correctly. However, the last sync I made my MAIN calendar was erased from iCal (2.0.2) !!! It is still on my TREO 650 (Palm OS 5.4.7) THANK GOD!! Here's the error I get in sync log from MS

NSRangeException *** -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (11) beyond bounds (10)

I have had my Treo 650 for maybe six months, prior to that I had a Kyocera Palmphone for a few years. I used Palm Desktop for years with no problem. Then switched to using iCal. I run all over Manhattan doing tech support for over 300 clients. I put in my (ZekeNY) calendar the work that I did and go on to the next facility. I then go home at night and sync my (ZekeNY) calendar and it goes right onto my .Mac account and is published for all my clients and co-workers to see. (Estimates, Invoices, everything about them.) Occasionally ical wouldn't sync the way that I wanted. So I figured MS would help me be able to pick and choose what calendars I wanted to sync and that it would put them into the right calendars in ical. Since Purchasing Missing Sync and installing it. It has ERASED my calender in iCal. I have that calendar on my Treo still THANK GOD. However, I no longer trust this product and would like to uninstall it and go back to using my ical and Palm conduits. I REALLY need help doing that though because the ONLY place my data is left is on my phone. And to compound things it seems MS has inexplicably changed the category's of that calendar info on my phone. I have left emails and voice mails with MS support - sounding like an absolute lunatic, to which I apologize. I am willing to Pay for PHONE SUPPORT. I just am very Nervous!! THis is MY BUSINESS that I took ten years to build, and if that Data is lost - My business is as well. Now I do have an additional internal that I use as a Backup drive, and had I had foresight would have turned off my Deja-VU software which back's up my USER every evening. PLEASE HELP. THANKS

If USERS of Missing Sync are happy with it and are able to get iCal calenders published through .Mac to work flawlessly than I am willing to listen and give it another shot, but at this stage I am desparate!

    TIA

    Joe-
I've been using Missing Sync for quite some time with great success. I too am syncing with iCal. I have yet to install version 5, but have been looking forward to many of the features. Is your data still on .mac? Can you do a Sync of .mac calendars back down to your Mac. If we know you're contacts/calendars are still on dot mac, then you can try some things to get the data going back/forth to your Treo. I know there are issues with Missing Sync with Verizon's Wireless Sync. You have to enable additional conduits. Since you've already been using Missing Sync, I assume you've tackled this issue. I'd give MS until tomorrow - see if they offer a solution. In the meantime, see if you can get your information back in iCal from dot mac. This will probably allow you sleep a little better know your data is back.

Uninstalling Missing Sync is relatively easy. However, then you have to go through the process of installing Palm Desktop, etc. I wouldn't suggest going down that road just yet. Palm's HotSync Manager and the iSync conduit aren't always the best solutions.

Default Since Installing Missing Sync-Erased iCal

Thanks for your reply. No my .Mac account is incorrect now as well. I STILL have my Data on my TREO 650 only. Albeit screwed up a bit. For some reason when I installed Missing sync it messed up all my categories/calendars even though I set the conduit settings correctly.

For example on my Treo, it randomly dumped my calendar(ZekeNY) events into another category/calendar that I subscribe to (noahjparks). However, it wasn't consistent. Some of my other events are in other calendars on my phone. I've manually gone through the last three months on my treo and corrected all my calendars. I turned off my .Mac system preference to synchronize (as suggested by Mark/Space) still to no avail after a VERY scary attempted resync. It still puts nothing into my (ZekeNY) calendar in iCal.

On my published calendar .Mac example my co-workers/customers, instead of seeing my (ZekeNY) calendar on line - They are seeing a mismash of a Boston Red Sox calendar that I subscribed too, and other calendars.

I have experienced some difficulties with iSync and my Treo. I have my Verizon settings correct (allowing other apps to sync) and it was All working albeit NOT perfectly for months. (Like sometimes I'd have to put a return in an event to get it to update in iCal.) BUT at LEAST I had my Data!

Here's my question. WHY is is that I don't have the option to OVERWRITE DESKTOP? I mean I remember with PALM DESKTOP the Conduit allowed for all THREE options. Synchronize, Overwrite Device, and Overwrite Desktop.

I know iSync is different - but WHY? and WHY not Missing Sync?

Thanks for your reply. I have to admit. I absolutely CANNOT believe that Mark/Space has non-existent PHONE SUPPORT! I do Tech Support for a living. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED A COMPANY THAT HAS NO WAY OF CONTACTING A PERSON. THERE IS ACTUALLY NO WAY TO CONTACT A PERSON. NOT EVEN TO PAY. DOESN'T REALLY SOUND LEGAL ACTUALLY.

They've been a little helpful, with their reply's although a bit condescending as if I'M just a moron and it ABSOLUTELY MUST be my fault. However, when I try to go to their terrible list, which looks like it was created in 92 (not even close TO how good this is) I see PLENTY of people who are having similar problems.

OK, Sorry for the Rant! I'm just VERY UPSET.

    Thanks

    Joe

Default iCal and iSync still messed up

    Chris,

Today was the first day I was able to dedicate to solving this problem in quite some time. I went over to Verizon and bought a 512 memory card only to find out I can't back up my calendar or contacts to the card? Is this true?

Anyhow tonight I uninstalled missing sync. Reinstalled Palm Desktop 4.2.1 rev d and WAS able to sync my phone to Palm desktop. Since I need to publish my calendar in iCal 2.0.3. I tried again. I went into iSync 2.1.1(89.0) and enabled Palm OS syncing. Then went into Palm desktop - Hotsync and enabled the isync conduit. I wasn't able to sync. THEN I created a new calendar in iCal and in iSync I chose the NEW calendar to sync Palm events to. It worked! BUT NEVER SINCE! I've tried everything. I just don't get it. I'm going to call back Palm Support tomorrow, BUT What do you think the problem is?

That's very odd. I have had oddities occur with iCal when first setting up my Sync process, but then it started working. It's odd that it works and then stops working? Have you tried a few times?

Sorry I cannot be of more assistance...
