You're absolutely right. Palm is the culprit. What they've sold you is bad software that doesn't work with Mac. In my opinion, they've robbed us, proporting to have products that work well together. Palm doesn't support the Mac software well. There have been little or no changes in years. Isync feature is bogus.

It's amazing that such a large company, with basically one product line, can fail to deliver. I'm president of a software publishing company with 25 years experience with micro-computers.

Mac.com is good. But they too don't supply the features required to do this kind of work. Syncing databases is not for the novice. There are too many variables which have to be accounted for: which address is old? which is new? are they duplicates with changes? Are they truly different addresses? Does the Palm address replace the mac.com address or the other way round? Without places to set these requirements any 'syncing' will be flawed at best.

I am able to sync my address book. Syncing is interupted when processing the Datebook data.

Hi Chris!

I am having a big problem with syncing my new treo 600 that I bot to replace my old treo 600 that just died. I have tmobile and the new new 600 I bot is an unlocked version of the 600.

It works fine before I sync it but when I sync it with my palm desktop 4.2.1 version D, it has buttons missing on the screen so I can’t even go to my voice mail or apps or camera, etc... Its very weird. When I do a hard reset again it goes back to the right buttons and them being assessible.

While I was waiting for my phone I bot a zire z22 and installed the software for that. When I got the treo 600, I threw away the palm folder in the apps and then installed the 4.2.1 version d from the palm website.

Then, I do a hotsync and it just messes things up.

I don’t know what I should do??

Any ideas??

Hmmmm.... let's see. It sounds like you've got third party software issues causing the issue. This is caused from the transition from the Zire to the Treo.

This Palm Handheld Upgrade Guide for Treo should be very helpful.

Try this and let me know how you make out.

I am having the same problem and I am sick of spending an hour on the phone, creating new user names and having it all happen again. Does anyone have any help?
