Missing Sync 5 Released
This looks to be great news for Mac users! The new Missing Sync works directly with Tiger's Sync Services technology. This means Missing Sync is no longer reliant on the Palm iSync conduit. It communicates directly with Tiger's database on your mac. It supports additional contact fields and handheld categories.
For more information, check out Mark Space Releases Version 5.
For previous owners, the upgrade price is $24.95 - that's very fair considering the feature set on v.5.
Since this is a major upgrade, I'll be reviewing the product in the coming weeks for the site rather than updating the existing review.

Judging by the Missing Synch 5 info and previous posts I am coming to the conclusion that Mail could now be considered a better bet than Entourage for plenty of fields, correctly synched on the 650. Would that be correct?

Not so much Mail as Address Book and iCal. However, that does impact your email client since you want your email client to pull contacts from your PIM of choice. So, if the Missing Sync delivers on improved syncing of Address Book (and additional fields), then moving to Mail does make sense. I used to debate this move for years. Every few months, I would jump back to Entourage. A typical Mac guy, I was always in the pursuit of a Microsoft free machine (other than Office). I've been rewarded of late with improvements coming with some regularity from Apple. I'm looking forward to using version 5 of Missing Sync -- and will of course report my findings here.
The new version also supports syncing of contact photos on your 650.
