Default Palm Desktop? iSync? Missing Sync? Need suggestions

I am using a new MacBook Pro running 10.4.9. I am getting ready to upgrade from my 650 to a new 755p. I haven't sync'd my 650 in years and my contacts are scattered aross many contact managers, so I want to start with a clean slate. I work for a small company of 6 employees, and we manage our calendars and contacts independently on each PC.

What do you recommend? Palm Desktop? iCal and Address Book via iSync? Missing Sync? Something else?

I really want to go with whatever will be smoothest and sync contacts, calendars, applications, and data with the fewest amount of problems.

The easiest solution would be to use Palm Desktop. However, my only concern is that your contacts are across various applications. If you have your contacts on your existing Treo 650, then you could install Palm Desktop and transfer to your Mac. Once complete, use the disk that comes with the Treo 755p to install the latest version.

Enabling iSync simply disables the calendar/contacts portion of Palm desktop and tells the HotSync application to use iSync (which then proceeds to use iCal and Address Book).

Using the Palm programs is probably your best bet for compatibility.

Missing Sync is merely a replacement for Palm's HotSync.

    Chris,

Thank you for your help. My plan is to manually enter in all of my contacts, fresh and clean in Palm Desktop. There is so much bad data on my 650 and in my contact managers, that I am going to start by entering the complete/good data.

If Missing Sync doesn't provide any extra benefit over Palm Desktop, I think I am going to start working on getting everything in Palm Desktop, and am planning on getting a 755p very soon.

    Many Thanks!
    Tim

    Tim-
That's your best bet for compatibility. Plus, your plan for clean data will put you on a good path for having a nice setup.

Enjoy the Treo 755p. It's a great phone.

Will do Chris, and I appreciate your help. While I have ya here, I've done some searching on how to setup "push" e-mail.....similar to blackberry. Is there an easy way to do this with a specific Palm OS mail app? From what I've found, it requires some additional services and setup to make it work like a blackberry.
