    Default Panther + Entourage + Treo650 = Good?

I am on the cusp of purchasing 2 (me & my partner) of these from Verizon, ahem. Never had a PDA B4, but am looking at this with great expectations.

What are the pitfalls re: Macs and Office for Mac and the Treo650? I would love to see a Mac-based area in general on the site. And, I guess it will need to segregate vs. Tiger too now...

Appreciate hearing from someone with experience here. Thx

Well, it's always nice to see a fellow Mac user in the loop. I'd be happy to create a forum category specific to the Mac if there is enough interest. If others chime in and see a need, then I'll set it up.

    Regarding your question....
For Mac users, I suggest you look no further than the very excellent Mark/Space Missing Sync software for Mac users. It supports Tiger (I can attest to this) and offers a host of features you will not find in the Palm Desktop.

Here's a link to a review of Missing Sync

I don't use Entourage (made the move to Apple Mail a while back), but it does support syncing through Entourage.

    Thanks Chris.
So, I haven't moved to Tiger yet, so does it support Panther too? I assume it had to be developed for Panther to begin with ...

Yes, it supports Panther. They were very fast to react to the release of Tiger and supported it from the release. It seems Tiger broke a few applications -- Popcorn is one that comes to mind. Left me waiting for the patch!

Mark/Space has been a long-standing supporter of the Mac platform and a good developer. The integration between the Treo and the Mac is flawless with Missing Sync. If you purchase an SD card (which is recommended), you can and should store your music on the SD card. This is made so much easier with Missing Sync because your Treo will appear in iTunes. Then it's as simple as drag and drop. Here's a screenshot:

I think I might go ahead and set up the Mac & Treo forum at your recommendation.

    Chris,

If it helps in your decision, I too am a Mac user and would appreciate a Mac only area.

    Default Mac User

I too am a Mac user and would love to see info for the 650 for Mac users. Have been having some weird situations with my 650 and my Mac G5 - using Panther.
