That's not possible. The Treo 700w will only run Windows Mobile 5 (until Verizon makes Windows Mobile 6 available and there is no guarantee that will even happen). To get Mac OS X on your mobile, you'll need to get an iPhone.

replacing os
Chris,
In a heartbeat, I'm getting an iPhone.. i don;t even care how much the disconnect fee is from Verizon!
Thought there might be a way to replace the OS. Windows Mobile is such a POS.

Its a vicious little trap. Operating systems are built for specific devices, and devices are built for specific Operating systems. The closest I've heard of any "crossbreeding" has been some guys trying to get Linux to run on a Treo 650, but as with many open source projects, it takes time to develop, and you can bet your bottom dollar no cell provider wants to support a project like that unless the phone's maker is behind it.

Not to get too far off topic here, but afaik the first widely available device to be able to run multiple OS's is the Mac. Specifically an Intel-equipped Mac running Parallels Desktop. I'm running Mac OS 10.4.9, WinXP SP2, and Linux on the same machine.

oh yes, it happens in the desktop realm, I have dual boot system that does Linux and XP, and have an emulator for older systems of mac software. Phones? well, not too easy to pry chipset info out of those guys or the carriers.

Parallels
Yes, that is a cool product.. running that on my PBPs and Minis.. that is what prompted the question! If you can run Windows on an Intel and Windows Mobile is running on these Treos... seems almost just a function of brute force and willpower to make a Treo run OSX...

700w to 700p??
Ok, can you convert a 700w to run the Palm OS? The 700w seemed cool in the store, but 16 days later, I realized none of the keys really made sense in the real world, making/returning calls used to be 2 clicks on my Razr and now it is an endless maze of pop up menus and windows... almost exhausting.. but, saving a ton on my minutes because making calls is just too damn painful, I don't even bother returning calls half the time.. if it is important, I get a call back.. and I don't even bother with voicemail....
