Sledge or ball peen?

At this point, I'm reduced to deciding which kind of hammer to use on my Treo.

Here's the backstory: I have a Treo 650 and a 12" Mac PowerBook running OSX 10.4. My PIM of choice is Entourage vX.

Last week, my VersaMail blew up. Every time I tried to launch it my phone crashed. Okay, whatever. I try to reinstall, but can't get a successful install. I buy the latest version and was finally able to install it after resetting the phone.

No problem because all my stuff is backed up and all I have to do is a Hot Sync and I'm on my way, right? Wrong.

I have tried EVERYTHING and nothing works. I can successfully swap files, etc., but syncing Entourage just isn't working anymore. My contacts won't migrate. I get a cute little message in the Hot Sync log that says "Address conduit did nothing."

I updated all the software, including shelling out $400 for a new Office 2004. Nothing.

So I download a trial of e2sync and iSync can see the phone but it can't "connect to this device" so that's a wash.

Nothing works. Nothing. The BlueTooth is obviously screwed. Hot Sync is obviously screwed. I'm obviously screwed.

How did this all go so wrong?

I don't know if you tried looking through the different threads but it sounds like you would benefit from missing sync.

I had trouble syncing everything (although I still don't sync with Entourage) and I downloaded this and it was the best investment ever. Not one problem since.

Sorry to hear you're having so many issues with your Treo and your Mac.

Is the rest of the HotSync process working and only the Entourage conduit is causing problems? Are you syncing via Bluetooth, USB or tried both?

You didn't mention which type of reset allowed you to install Versamail. If it was just a soft reset, then I'd try a hard reset, and install any 3rd-party apps one at a time, making sure the Versamail conduit works after each install.
