System Tools or Repair Sync Treo 650 with Entourage

Is anybody using Entourage to sync the comp withe the Treo 650?
I am having problems when sync. I change computers and imported the Entourage user data into the new comp. Now when tryingn to sync the computer says that this data belongs to another device. Any help?

    Default Hard , very hard

you must have a handheld sync installer. this will allow you to sync both. it works as a conduit inside of the palm desktop. that means that you will have a conduit for address, another for memos , another for calendar (all these standard in palmdesktop) and then you will have one that says entourage conduit. inside of this conduuit you will have contacts, memos, calendar etc. you must prepare hot sync to "do nothing" with the palm conduits and "sync" the entourage conduit. if you sync the palm conduits will create another copy of the data inside palm. go to mactopia and download the handheld installer.
anyway. after doing all this you might not still be able to sync. (that happened to me) and surprisingly enough, my treo is with sprint, and sprint doesnt even have a clue of how to sync it with entourage. they are not trainned and cannot help you.so this is what i did. I back up all the info from entourage and the palm. I unisntalled palm. uninstalled microsoft office and deleted all the files from it. then i re-installed office. re installed the ms user data.re installed palm. and re installed the handheld sync that mactopia gave me. when launching the palm it asked me which device i want to sync. i put the same name the phone had and hotsync it. It work!!!! I spent weeks figuring this out and beleive me it work. the only problem now is that the hot sync manager quits almost at the end of the sync. i have to figure that thatnow. but it syncs. remember that the data in the phone might cahnge a little but it will correspond with the entourage now. good luck and lots of patience. SPRINT SHOULD TRAIN THEIR PEOPLE TO LEARN ABOUT ENTOURAGE AND THE PALM SYSTEM. THEY THINK IT CANNOT BE DONE.
THAT SHOWS YOU THAT MONEY DOESNT NECESSARILY SOLVE EVERYTHING.

    Default ENTOURAGE & TREO SYNC

TO ALL USERS. do not install the sortware that comes with the treo if you are hoping to use entourage with the treo. It seems that the software doesnt come with a conduit to sync the entourage. if you sync the treo with entourage and upgrade to the software included the palm will not recognize the enoturage conduit and will never sync. that will cause a bug that its almost impossible to solve (see my previous comment). download the palm desktop and install it but do not use the cd included unless you are using Outlook. CAN ANYBODY SOLVE THIS ???? i would like to use some things from the cd package but cannot install it causeit is a package that cannot be modified.

Which software are you using if not the included software that comes with your Treo?

    Default palm desktop

you dont need the software from the cd to sync with entourage. just download palm desktop from downloads.com and the download the handheld sync installer from microsoft. that 's it. if you are using entourage and try to sync the treo it wont work cause sprint dosnt even know how to do it and they dont have a conduit yet for it.

I thought I would share my experience. I recently purchased a Treo 650 / Cingular. I'm coming from a blackberry and using a Mac. After reading the posts on this and other forums I almost decided against the treo. Well I picked up my Treo, installed the Palm Software from the CD on my mac. Then I installed the Palm conduit from Office X ( I think instructions were on Palmone.com under support), and that was it, perfect sync time after time, it was so easy and effortless it was almost scary. I was told to stay away from the Palm software but when I tried to install the Conduit it said I needed the Palm Hot Sync to be installed first. Either way it is perfect and simple and fast. Good luck. So install the palm hot sync, then the conduit you should be fine.

Great to hear. Most use the forums for when they have a problem rather than report success - which is understandable.

I always welcome a good success story and from a fellow Mac user.

    Chris, all,

I'm about to get a Treo from my comapny (currently have: BB 7750) so I probably shouldn't even be asking this question yet --

my Treo will be syncing over the air with Lotus Notes. Is it possible / advisable / practical to ALSO sync it to Entourage on my mac? Or is this a fool's journey?
