Update erased info on 650/sprint
:eek:AAAAAUUUGGHHHH!
can anyone help me tell me how to get my files from my computer into my phone. i lost my memos and my addressbook info is messed up. it shows unnamed for some numbers and erased lots of them. I tried back up before updated. Guess that didn't mean backup program on my card, because that was erased. I have missing sync and isync on mac.
this treo is sooo techno sensative, I love this phone, but do most people have the techno knowledge for it??

Troubleshooting Treo 650 & Mac
Okay, deep breaths... first off, I've moved your thread to the Treo and Mac OS X section of the forums. Now, let's see if we can help you out. I have a few questions:
What version of the Mac OS are you running?
Are your contacts on either your Treo or on your computer?
You're trying to sync iCal and Address book to the Treo? Correct?
When you initiate a HotSync is it completing? Have you had a complete hotsync since getting the Treo and Missing Sync?
Backup just backs up the files from your Treo such as 3rd party apps, etc.
In Missing Sync, you should have the iSync Conduit checked. Double click to ensure it's checked. Are your Memos in the Mark/Space MemoPad? Open it up -- it's located within Missing Sync folder in your Applications folder.

I'm running mac os x 10.3.9
Contacts are on computer, as far as i can tell everything in address book is fine
[You're trying to sync iCal and Address book to the Treo? Correct?]
...yes, so can get old data that appears fine there
[When you initiate a HotSync is it completing? Have you had a complete hotsync since getting the Treo and Missing Sync?]
...yes hotsync is fine, no problems, even installed cardbackup and nnerbackup because of this
[In Missing Sync, you should have the iSync Conduit checked. Double click to ensure it's checked.]
...it is
[ Are your Memos in the Mark/Space MemoPad? Open it up -- it's located within Missing Sync folder in your Applications folder.]
...wow never saw this before, doesn't matter, it's totally empty

Go into your applications folder and open iSync. Just to be sure, click on iSync > About iSync. The latest version of the iSync Palm Conduit for Panther is 1.2.
Try checking the box for "Force Slow Synchronization".
I had some quirky things happen the first time or two I was syncing -- using iSync and Missing. I had duplicates and all kinds of bizarro stuff. It eventually worked itself out after a few HotSync operations. I would try deleting any duplicates or mistakes on your mac before the sync.
In Missing Sync, check the box next to Mark/Space Memo Pad. I would disable everything but the iSync conduit and Mark/Space MemoPad until you get it running smooth.
Take comfort in knowing your not alone. I did a pretty good job of trashing my Address Book, but I'm happy to report it's been smooth sailing ever since.
Oh, also...make sure you're running the latest and greatest version of Missing Sync. You can check from updates withing Missing Sync. Just select Missing Sync > Check for updates.
Good luck. Let me know how you make out.
