Question Verizon Treo 650 & Mac Sync. HELP!

I just bought 'missing sync' to solve my problems BUT it says i have to sync one last time with tiger because everything needs to be updated on the mac as that is what will sync with my treo (treo info will be erased). THE PROBLEM IS that my original problem was that iCal and Contacts aren't syncing. So I can't start syncing with 'missing sync' until my orginal problem is fixed! UGH! SOOOO frustrated! Please help!!!
    Thanks,
    Moo

Which database is most current, the Treo's or the Mac's?

btw, thread moved to the Treo And Mac OS X forum. More likely to get useful hits there.

The mac's. I heard thru the grapevine alot of people are having sync problems w/ iCal & Address Book with the most updated version of Tiger but the person didn't know if there was a remedy... do you?

In that case, you don't need to worry about it. As a precaution, I'd backup your contact and calendar DBs from within those apps (go to File -> Backup database...). If you want to, try setting the contacts and calendar conduits to "Mac overwrites handheld" and syncing again. The reason MarkSpace wants you to do a last sync is to be sure nothing is lost from your handheld if it's more current than your Mac.

I'm syncing fine with this configuration.

They also want to be sure you can sync using HotSync Manager. While the Mark/Space solution effectively replaces the HotSync Manager, Missing Sync is definitely not the cure all. If you cannot sync with Palm software, it's most likely that you will not be able to sync with Missing Sync.

I agree with Kabeyun's assessment to backup your data. I'd then start from scratch and get communication happening between your Treo and the Mac. Have you installed Palm Desktop that came with your Treo?
    • Uninstall Missing Sync
    • Install Palm Desktop (that came with your Treo) and confirm communication works between your Mac and Treo
    • Activate Palm OS Syncing in iSync
    • Sync iCal and Contacts
    • Once everything works, reinstall Missing Sync
There might be an easier way, but I'd go this route.
