Battery issues and more!HELP!

Ok so I got my Pro not too long ago. I have a GSM unlocked one. The problem I'm having is my battery will be fully charged and then when the battery gets to like 60% left it instantly goes to 0% and says battery extremly low but I left it alone for like 2 hours and it never died which means its prolly a fluke. How do i fix it?

2nd, My middle button that says PALM doesnt light up. is it supposed to or just blink when i have a missed call and how can I fix it if its an issue?

3rd, I have some really unwanted software on my programs list but its not on my remove programs page.

4th, is there any way to speed up my phone because when im texting, its really delayed typing and i have to wait for it to "think" before i can continue typing or the letters get all messed up..

I have had a GSM 850 for some time I have not experienced what you are with the battery Have you tried a soft reset?

2. The Middle button I think blinks when you have unread voice mail and maybe missed calls. I cant telling if its blinking unless it is in the dark.

3. If you have unwanted software that you cant remove its in the ROM and cant be removed except by using a custom rom. deleting those apps may cause loss of functionality.
4. If you are experiencing lag you may have a lot of programs open in memory. The x does not by default close a program but moves it to the background. You have to tap on the icon in the upper right corner which opens your list of open programs and tap on the red x to the left to close all programs or the red x next to individual programs which you want to close.
