Default New user and I'm ready to return the thing

I've gone through the small manual, looked on the Internet at windows mobile but I still can't see how to retrieve my messages. Yesterday I was sending sms, and today I can't even retrieve them. I select menu, or from the "button" but I can't get to my email messages, or my sms messages. I can see I have them and the count but thats as far as I can get. I admit I haven't even had the thing for 24 hours but that ipod is looking good right now.

I want to give this phone a chance, maybe there is just a problem with it.

We take it you are talking about Pocket Outlook. What a heck of a program it is. It probably is a configuration problem; however, after suffering with it on my 800W for a very few days, I went with FlexMail and ended the hassle. I remember something on the lower right side believe it to be Menu and some options in there that may be worth playing with. Really though, Pocket Outlook is the only function I truly hate in WM.

Well it seems to have resolved itself but I wish knew how. Thanks. I guess I get used to windows mobile, not as intuitive as it should be.

I don't know how much more intuitive it can be than to simply press the mail icon. In the default Windows Mobile setup, the subsequent screen gives you access to SMS and to all e-mail accounts. Had you changed the default application for the button?

That is probably the problem there. I use FlexMail and have the PO application set to display only SMS messages. In addition I put a short cut for PO on my start menu to keep fro having to slide the slider to get to the button.

Thank you, the problem was resolved and Yes I was selecting the mail icon, the menu would not work allowing me to choose new, reply etc.. I have since had to do a hard reset to solve another problem with Palm support. I will probably keep it but I think the OS is a little buggy. Is it Windows mobile or Palm to blame I can't tell.

The WM OS has very few bugs and none of them stoppers. The menu selection has a few options for you to browse through. I noticed some of the things with the 800W that bothered me are not there is the Touch Pro. Each device has its issues.
