Default Palm Treo Pro v BMW

    Hello,

I am living in the UK and have just received the new Palm Treo Pro for a works mobile. I also drive a BMW 330Cd registered in 2005 which has Bluetooth capability for handsfree mobile phones. My previous mobile Nokia 3109C would link via Bluetooth and the system worked well. I have tried to link my new mobile and the phone will work if I use the phone in the car but my phone directory will not link to my front screen in the car. This therefore leaves me that I cannot use the car via the screen to dial numbers or see who is dialing to me. I have spoken to BMW and they tell me that the phone is not compatible but I would like to know if anyone has had a similar problem and further if a software download patch could be distributed and loaded to the onboard computer in the car.

Any help on this matter would be really appreciated.

    Many Thanks

    P Walsh

I have the Treo 650 and am able to use it with my MBZ 2005 e class with the command module. It would not upload my contacts but would upload my instant dials. It would sometimes take several minutes to pair with the mbz when I got in the vehicle. I bought the Treo 680 and it would pair and then freeze up and I would have to do a soft reset. I returned the 680. I think Palm has an inherent blue tooth pairing problem with OEM blue tooth systems. I now have a 3g iPhone and it works perfectly with the MBZ. I am hoping the Pre will not have the pairing issue. I think you are out of luck. Sorry
