Should I get one?
Hello all! Its time to upgrade (i'm with alltel if it matters) so I'm thinking about parting ways with my Q and trying the Treo Pro. Should I do it? Are there any major pros/cons to these? I've pretty much always had motorola's of some sort. Thanks!

I have read complaints concerning low memory problems - applications shutting down. The device has very few problems compared to the 800W - so that is better. It is a 320 x 320 screen, does not have VGA installed on it, though VGA can be installed on it. The device does support stand alone GPS. Some complain about the key pad, but that is more of a getting use to situation. Some complain about the mini usb port. Some complain about no head set. Some say it is sluggish compared to the 800W.
So really, the only down point of substance I have read about is the lack of memory.

I'm kind of going back and forth between this one and the HTC Touch Pro....I dont use a smartphone for much of the business end of things really, in case that plays a role in peoples opinions of the phone. I've heard of some issues with the HTC and know nothing about palms....so in a nutshell, I have no clue what to do!! :frown:

I currently have a Q9c and my wife just purchased a Treo Pro. I like it. It has a lot of updated home screen features that the Q does not out of the box. The key pad needs geting used to but not impossible. I am up for renewall but am waiting to see teh Pre before I decide.

My biggest gripe with the Pro is battery life. Some days I get through the day with 50% battery left. Other days with the exact same usage I'm looking for a charger by 9pm. I even purchased the Seidio 1650 mah battery. It's very frustrating, especially since the Pro is capable of keeping you quit entertained all day. I have to force myself to not "play" with it so that I can get through the day on one charge.....arrrggghhhh!

The more a device does, the thinner it is and there goes battery life. Things like signal quality are also little annoyances. There are 3rd party batteries that address that issue and a few tweaks that MIGHT help a bit.
In my WM past I have had 5 different types and only after #4 (the 800W) did I decided to stick with the WM OS. The 800W for me was ok, but I had problems with the keypad and at that point went with #5, the Touch Pro. Each has its set of issues and all of the issues can for the most part be worked out (the 800W EOL and some of its issues are just a given fact). The Touch Pro has been trouble free for the most part and I expect the Treo Pro will be much the same - as both are manufactured by HTC and the quality of their devices continues to increase.
