Camera or Multimedia Treo Pro Official

I received word this morning from Palm. It will be released on Vodafone and O2. No US carrier has been announced, but Palm will be selling it unlocked in the US. That's surprising! Prices yet to be determined.

I'm wondering why AT&T isn't on board. Palm didn't even mention a carrier in the US and they are selling it unlocked out of the gate. I wonder if they released it early to build their case? It's certainly getting it's share of positive reviews around the web. Geez, even Engadget said nice things.

    Need Help Palm to windows

Hello all, I have a question.

I am very interested in this new Centro Pro, but noticed it is windows based.
How difficult will it be to transition from a Palm platform to a windows platform? I'm afraid to take the plunge!

Whats the worst that could happen? I lose the ability to use my favorite palm programs I've been using for years?

    Thanks for the input!

That's a common problem for those making the jump from a Palm OS based phone to Windows Mobile. Despite it's age, the Palm OS is very user friendly. Not to say that Windows Mobile isn't user friendly, but probably not so much as the Palm OS.

It is a robust OS and there are plenty of third party programs. Depending on which app, you might not find it's on Windows Mobile.

Palm has done a great job with the "Today" screen.

Take a good hard look at what apps you have on your Centro and then see if there is a windows counterpart or replacement.

During my change over, the one application I unable to duplicate in any way/form, et cetera, is a call recorder. A note though, not all of the WM applications are as easy to use or setup as the POS applications.

Default Palm Pro with new POS?

Any thoughts on if the PRO will come out with a new POS any time soon. The question probably should be if there is any news as to a new POS and when it may be available.

Yep and at that time, I may move that way if the applications are there or Palm compatible. In the WM world I have all but one of the POS applications available to me and that is CallRec (Call Recorder) - there is not a similar application in the WM world.
