Default Using the Treo Pro to connect laptop to the Internet

I read where you can connect to the Internet using the wireless signal of the Treo Pro by plugging the charger cable into a powered USB hub then into my laptop. On the phone you go into programs, Internet Sharing, and click "connect."

My question is: Do I need to use a "powered" USB hub? Can I simply use the phone's charger cable by connecting the phone directly to a USB port on the laptop?

I suspect that you can but you might experience problems if the laptops power supply is a little bit underpowered. Its probably best to use the power supply that came with your hub if you have it. Better to be safe than sorry. (or intermittent)

Default hub

I don't remember getting a hub packaged with my Treo Pro. The power cord plugs into a cylindrical power plus with a USB port...are you talking about that? That does not have a second usb port to connect to the laptop.

I understand now you can do that or you can plug into a powered usb hub as opposed to a hub just being plugged into the computer
