Display Current Cellular Network?

I couldn't find any other info on this, so I'll see if someone has any ideas:

Is there any way/utility to display the current cellular network you are operating on? Cellular providers have lots of agreements with small companies to use their towers, but we have no way of knowing which tower we are currently operating on. Know what I mean?

I had an unlocked HTC S710 (VOX) running WM6 Smartphone, and that phone did that by default. So, when traveling across the country, it would display T-Mobile, I-wireless, and lots of other names I never heard of (all AT&T partners). It was pretty neat information.

BTW, I'm using a factory unlocked Treo 680 on AT&T (actually Consumer Cellular, an MVNO).

Maybe I should have said which "tower", not which "network".
