Most 700p's come with an embedded version of the Kinoma player. If so, all you have to do is a soft reset, and then launch the player. When you do this for the first time after a soft reset, the Kinoma screen will appear with an bar labeled "upgrade". Just tap on that bar with your stylus, and it will take you right to the upgrade page, where you can do the entire download directly onto the device, at a $10.00 savings ($14.95).
If you don't have a player already, you can purchase the new version for $24.95 at:
http://www.kinoma.com/
Great Investment!!

Quick question.... can these video files you guys been talking about, not play with the Windows Media Player that comes with the Treo 700wx, or should I just download the core player... and if so can I get rid of the WMP if it isn't necessary to have anymore? I did say quick question didn't I....lol!

Kinoma's just released a Free Update (for those you with version 4 and Up) to 4.1.2
It addresses a lot of the issues they were having when encountering a "dead" link.
They seemed to have corrected it beautifully:wink:

Any free apps for streaming? I cannot stand the idea of $20 here, $40 there and then you have $600 in apps on a $300 phone you keep for 1.5 years

All very well to be able to youtube or google videos off a free or retail viewer, but if your wireless provider is merrily going ka'ching, ka'ching for every kb you're streaming, you'll be exceeding the GNP of most small nations in no time and making the phone company very happy.
But it'll sure look cool.

So you are the ruler of a small country with unlimited revenue then, huh?
Either that or the wireless company saw you coming. Maybe P.T. Barnum under-judged when he said, "There's a sucker born every minute" - but then, he didn't anticipate wireless companies and their subscribers...

?????? Not sure what YOUR deal is, but where I'm at, Verizon offers an "Unlimited Data Plan". For people like me who stream, are constantly on the web, & send/receive a bunch of emails, it's rather cost effective. You should take a break from the sarcasim & check it out!"Hollywood"
