How to convert Vpad.pdb files to MP3 files
I'm stuck! I have recorded several voice memos from my 94 year old mother on my TREO 680 and am DESPERATE to get them over to my PC in a non-Palm listenable form. Email probably is not worth it as file structure will be same. Blue tooth to a MAC didnt work but probably same issue about file structure. Assuming I can move the file to my PC, anyone know how to convert file to something readable off a PALM device??b

I'm having the exact same problem and would like to find a solution. It's rather remarkable that such a straight forward procedure would not be available. At the minimum it's amazing that there is not a way to listen to the voice memos through palm desktop, or just the PC. All we have are these '*_Vpad.pdb' files.
Finding them was even a bit of a chore. If anyone is looking for where their voice memos get backed up to... it's in a folder called "Backup" that's under a folder with your treo's name (abbreviated) which is in your Palm Desktop install folder. For me the backup files are at:
"c:\program files\palm\TreoJ\Backup"
I found one hack recipe for getting those voice memos playable on your PC:
Check this out.

Thx for your input and thx for reminding me that all TREO files are in fact backed up on PC. At least that's one step. And I'll try the patch from teh Prof in Holland to see if I can hear the file. This is really WIERD. PALM needs to make these files accessible to users not using Palm devices!
Is there anyone out there who knows how to do this???

Zapatero had given me some suggestions on moving the VPAD.pdb files and how to make them listenable. No luck. I did find the back up of those files on my PC but apparently they are not in the AMR format. I renamed them .amr and then used the file convert program suggested by Prof Marinello from Holland. No output. I cant send them in a message cause they're too long. I cant seem to bluetooth them to a PC as the bluethooth stops in the middle. My last resort, unless one of your readers has another suggestion, is to buy email service and to see if I can mail myself one of those files.
ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW HOW TO MOVE VOICE MAIL FILES OFF OF A TREO 680 AND LISTEN TO THEM OFF A PALM PLATFORM????

Your treo may be saving the files in .qcp format. Heres the thread with the solution:

i am having a similiar problem with .pdb files (palm database files)
i had a sprint palm centro and downloaded ringtones from sprint.com
3 days ago i upgraded to a palm treo850 PRO
i am trying to figure out how to transfer the ringtones i purchased at sprint.com from the centro to the pro...i cannot beam them, as they are locked and are prohibited to be transferred.
although the centro in no longer active, i still have the phone and the files on it. the ringtones were also backed up on my computer as .pdb files (in the palm os backup folder).
my problem now is that i want to transfer these ringtones to my new phone, the pro. does anyone have any suggestions. so far the best advice i have gotten is to convert the .pdb files to mp3 files...sounds great. does anybody know how??
appreciate any help out there =)
