Default Verichat rules!

I have been using verichat for over a month. It works well for me. I can log on with multiple usernames on multiple applications and menuver within them on one screen. I have it set up that if i'm not currently connected it sends me an IM, it only takes a second and then I reconnect. I don't feel a need to stay conected if at any moment I can be contacted.

If you're not chatting and the Treo goes into screen saver mode, it logs you off. The maximum amount of time before the 700p puts itself to sleep is 3 minutes (even when I have it docked). I use yahoo im when i'm at work on my Treo (because it's blocked on my work computer), but it gets very annoying when I have to sign back in all the time.

So, my question is: Is there a way to keep it from logging off when the Treo shuts off its screen while idle? Hell, is there a way to keep the Treo from going to sleep after just 3 minutes? I would rather just turn the screen off myself when I don't want it on.

Thanks in advance.
Wait a sec, you got the 700p to work with verichat? I have been using verichat for a long time, but when I upgraded to the 700p I have problems with it replacing all the spaces with '%20' and just assumed that verichat was having problems handling the code on the new platform. If it turns out that you got this working, I have new hope to be able to use this again. I'm on 2.86b, which version are you running?

As for the logging off, there are several "always on" options that will either put verichat in the background, or "not exit on screen off". Under Preferences, miscellaneous, uncheck "Exit VeriChat on display-off" and you should be good to go! Hope it helps!

Informative 700p and verichat

I have the 700p without any issues from verichat.. I have version VeriChat v2.89b from our one and only Everything Treo site VeriChat for Treo at Everything Treo . It works great. I have had no problems with it. The developers respond quickly for any questions you might wish to write to them if you're having some issues, because it works like a dream for me. *dancies*

If a client cannot do SSL in the background, it should at least be able to poll the server for unreceived messages. (for example the way PSI works.)

Anyone know of a web based client that would do SSL and have a history of all messages received, whether logged in or not? -- would have to be somewhat useable on the treo screen of course.

The verichat yearly fee just killed it for me! I have found IM+ to be reliable, with the ability to run in the BG. Very flexable, and fairly attractive. I HATE the sounds that come with it, and usually run it with the speaker turned off. But for a one time fee, I can easily live with the terrible alert sounds . .

I think Verichat is great. I was just using the trial for a month.

I tried IM+ but I hated the interface and sounds. Verichat's interface is fantastic.

The only things that annoy me about Verichat are (1) the annual fee and (2) the lack of support for Jabber (Google Talk). It's an open standard! You'd think they could support this fairly easily.

If they'd add support for Jabber, I'd probably buy it, even with the annual fee. What's that all about anyway? IM+ is just a one-time fee.

Generally, messages sent to/from a PHONE NUMBER are text messages to be charged per message. IM programs (IM+, Chatoplus, Mundu, etc) use your data plan, so your good to go with an unlimited plan
