Need app to record to SD card in Treo650
What application can I get that will allow me to hit the button on the side to that it will record audio to my sd card?

I've got a Verizon 650 and it came with 2 audio applications on the install CD. I think one was RealPlayer. I haven't installed it yet, but I thought the Verizon guy said it was that one. No? Do you have that installed?

Will I be happier with a Treo 650 than my old Palm Vx?

Audacity . It turns your Treo 650 (or 600) into a voice recorder. You can also program buttons and record straight to the SD card.

Cool,
Thanks!!!

There's also Personal Audio Recorder which is slightly less expensive and allows you to append audio files.

I'm trying mVoice and it too will allow recording of voice files (and phone calls) to the SD card. However, I found that a conference call I tried to record only recorded the mike input on the phone...I was using a bluetooth headset at the time.
Could be a version of PEBKAC* but I'm not sure...I'll have to read through the documentation tonight! I did successfully test the voice recorder recording to the SD card.

Although it won't record phone calls, I am really liking a free app I came across a while back. Allow me to copy and paste something that I wrote about it some time ago:
Sound Recorder: Need to make a voice note to yourself? Want to record exactly what the person your meeting with says for later reference? This program gets it done. Store these digital files directly to your external card to protect that precious memory on the 650. If anything this baby records a little too good. At least with my volume care settings, as I thought my first recording was going to blow my headset speaker! But it comes with both a record volume and a playback volume as well as recording quality level. Even though this program rocks and does a great job of recording there is one feature I miss . . . . . an alarm to prod me to take action on that recording. In other words, you make a quick note to yourself to “call insurance company to check on additional coverage” and then set an alarm to “play your message” at a certain time, and then repeat every so often until you tell it to “shut Up” . .
But still yet, for free, it rocks!

I would really like to try Audacity, but it seems that A PC is required!
I'm on a Mac and the download of the Audacity trial is a PC executable!!
Can someone send me an unregistered version of the prc, so I can try the program?
TIA

I second the vote for SoundRec. The quality of the recording is simple AMAZING! The Treo video recorder and audio recorder is so horrible but using SoundRec, it sounds very close to what it really sounds. I use that and highly recommend it.
Besides, if's FREE.
