Internet pricing
My mom told me when I bought my phone that verizon sent her a notice saying it would be $44 or something more a month for me to have this phone, which I was assuming was for email and internet.
Anyone know if that $44 includes unlimited internet access or not?

I'm not sure as I haven't gotten mine yet, but I thought that was the "unlimited data plan" which covers the internet side. This is ADDITIONAL to your existing voice plan.
Now, I'm not sure if this is true, but I had asked a Verizon rep online via chat about instant messaging (like AIM/Yahoo/MSN) and she said that those actually use text messaging instead of the internet data, so if that's true, you wanna make sure you have unlimited text messages as well!

It is for the data package that you have no choice but to get. The data package covers the email and internet. Text and pic messaging falls under the voice plans.

But, if all you use your treo is for phone, and pda functions, then you are not required to get a data plan, you can tell them you want the "pay as you go" plan. Just don't use your browser.

if you want your bill to stay virtually the same, I would reccomend that you get the "data block" option. This way you are not charged for any data and you can't recieve any data. of course, you could always go with the "pay as you go" data plan if you want to. You do not have to get the 44.99 data plan because there are other options.
