Is the ESN number supposed to disappear after an Update?
I bought a Treo 650 on Ebay I'm setting up to give my sister.
After all the hard resets involved in updating from 1.03-VRZ to 1.04VRZ to 1.05_VRZ ROM, the ESN number no longer shows up in the "Phone Info" screen.
The radio still connects to the Verizon Network.
Is the Phone fried?
Is there a way for me to get the ESN number to display again?
Is there a way for Verizon to get the ESN number to display again?
ALSO,
If this Treo is still viable,
what, exactly, is the procedure to get Verizon to activate the ESN and transfer (my sister's) phone number to the Treo?
I'd like to have all these questions settled before I ship the device to my sister on the East Coast. She's a bit techno-phobic, so I probably need to give her step-by-step instructions on where to go, and what to ask for.
Thanks!

Thanks, Ben, but "Check the preferences" doesn't really cover this situation.
I found that if you go to the Network Preferences and click "Connect" the ESN and phone info will be restored to the Phone Info fields, even if the phone is not activated.

Yes and I apologize for such a short answer. I have heard stories about the ESN getting zapped after an update; however, I have not personally been a victim.
