resetting problems? - Treo Forums

Okay, I'm a palm OS fan and I love it. I've been eye-ing the treo ever since the 300. I finally made the jump to the 650 with Verizon a week ago. I'm on my SECOND TREO. My first one crashed and reset probably 10-12 times during the day. (even while on phone calls). So, verizon swapped it and I didn't install ANY third party apps. well....its doing it again. My #*#377 message said Emul68kcommon.c, blah blah blah.

Any help???? Is this a Verizon thing or Treo thing? I'm almost thinking about going Blackberry.

I just took mine in today, had it a month. It soft reset about once a day, usually when the phone rang. Today it got stuck on the white screen (has a few times, often with a repeating key sound), then when I finally pulled the battery for a while and restarted, it forgot it even had a phone. I took it to the store and they swapped the phone out, thankfully have them in stock.

I have some 3rd party apps, including Ringo, and a semi-brand-name 512 MB SD card (PNY). Was wondering about it myself. Seems Verizon Treo owners experience this a lot, another friend counted 4 of us in our circle of friends, all Verizon 650 users, with similar issues. Hmmmm....

It's Verizon's Web Sync causing the problems. Also happens with VersaMail. It seems any software that relies on syncing over the web other than just surfing, causes it to either freeze or constantly reset. That eliminates one of the major features of the phone.

Thanks for the heads up. Do you suggest anything? I've heard snappermail is okay.

I haven't tried any other software for email besides the two I mentioned. I might give Snappermail a try. I hesitate because it's a hard reset everytime it doesn't work and a couple of hours setting everything back up. Thanks.
