Default Setting up POP email with the 650...

I just picked up the Treo 650 through Verizon -- wonderful piece of equipment, and got it just in time (my laptop has to go in for servicing today). I've been trying to set up the email feature on the 650 and followed the instructions carefully (I use Yahoo's paid POP-forwarding service).

I can send email using the Treo just fine. The problem is in downloading; it only downloads when I hit the sync button. There is no automatic "push" or download without having to re-sync the device.

What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Default My question as well

    Is this possible?

If so, what factors are involved if you're not going to use a Redirector?

Will I be happier with a Treo 650 than my old Palm Vx?

    Snappermail will do it.

    www.snappermail.com

Get the Premium or Enterprise Edition.

    BTW: I don't work for Snappermail ;-)
Impressed after using it only for a day.

Even works with Google Mail ..gmail.

I will be getting myself a Treo in the next week or so. When I was researching it, the Verizon dealer told me that there was no way to "push" the emails to the phone, like a Blackberry. I would need to change the sync time to check for emails more often. This would in turn cause my phone to be unavailable for receiving calls during these times.

Would snappermail fix this problem and let me get pop emails in realtime?

No it will not! The Treo is not a true "push" email device out of the box like a BB.

The closest thing to it if not a true push solution for the treo is Chatter Email.

That's what I thought. I'm still getting one, but if it had this capability this thing would be flawless.
