    Default signal strength

I had a motorola flip phone before I purchased the 700p. The reception for the 700p is pitifull compared w/ the flip phone.
Is there anything that can be done about it? I haven't checked w/ verizon yet, but I would rather carry a phone that works and a palm instead of a half-working phone/palm device.

Could you be in an area without good coverage? when you compare between the two phones, you are of course in the same area and not pulling the antenna out on the flip phone...

I am pulling the antenna out - I sure wish all phones had a longer antenna. But, the difference between full bars and only 2 on the palm seems more then just pulling the antenna out.

I talked to Verizon customer service and they told me they would send me a replacement. I will get it setup and try the new one. If it has the same issue I will get a different flip phone and just use my separate palm zire device.

Here in paradise, 2,500 miles west of some place in the middle of no place, I have a Nextel Bluetooth phone and the 700p. There are places they both pull strong signals, places where the 700p pulls a stronger signal, places where the Nextel pulls a stronger signal, and places where neither pull a signal at all right smack in the middle of the city.

Verizon sent me a replacement phone and the signal strength is great.
